permaculture design courses for refugees
At Sporos we trained 43 students in the past 9 months, in spite of pandemic lockdowns and restrictions. We did it through offering 3 so far, free PDCs to asylum seekers, refugees, locals and internationals in our educational farm. This has been possible through funding from the Emergence Foundation UK who believed in our cause and supported us in order to be able to benefit as much people as possible here in Lesvos. Apart from teaching skills and increasing the employability of our audience, we also promoted and fostered social inclusion between the different communities who live on the island.
Sporos has also offered introduction to permaculture courses, a permaculture garden workshop and olive harvesting workshops in the past.
