Sporos is spreading its green knowledge to the elementary schools of Lesvos with two STEM projects.
Once COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, we started a program for school gardens. We are planning to set up children permaculture and organic gardening programs and gardens in primary schools across the island. We will facilitate the designing and building of the gardens, teach the children how to grow healthy, organic and delicious food and support them along the way.
The first school to implement our project is Plomari Primary School. The project is at phase one. We have teamed up with the Parents Association of the school who helped us build and fund the Garden.
For our aquaponics project we will collaborate with Juice PLUS+ and provide a Tower Garden to schools with inappropriate or insufficient space for a normal garden, because where there is a will there is a way.
